St. Paul High School, Dadar (E), celebrated Vianney Day on 4th August 2026 with joy, reverence
and heartfelt gratitude, honouring St. John Mary Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests. The
celebration was organised under the able guidance of Tr. Mincy Cheriyan and Tr. Akansha
Carvalho and was held during the morning assembly in the Principal’s Office. The programme was
live-streamed to all classrooms through the school’s audio-visual system, enabling the entire school
community to unite in prayer and celebration.
The celebration commenced with a warm welcome to our esteemed clergy—Rev. Fr. Venancio
Mascarenhas, Manager; Rev. Fr. Victor Bandya, Principal and Rev. Fr. Clifford D’Souza.
The morning assembly began on a prayerful note with the Morning Prayer, National Anthem,
School Anthem and Rajya Geet, followed by a solemn Prayer Service comprising the opening
prayer, Scripture reading, reflection and Prayer of the Faithful. The sacred moments invited
everyone to pause, reflect and give thanks for the gift of priestly vocation.
A student then delivered an inspiring speech on the life and virtues of St. John Marie Vianney,
highlighting his humility, deep faith, simplicity and unwavering dedication to God and His people.
His exemplary life served as a gentle reminder of the beauty of selfless service and steadfast faith.
The programme was confidently compered by Mst. Caleb Soares and Shriyan, whose graceful
presentation ensured a smooth and engaging flow. Adding a melodious touch to the celebration, the
school choir presented a soulful tribute to the priests. Mst. Jaden D’Souza accompanied the
performance on guitar, while Mst. Caleb Soares, Mst. Aditya Nayak and Mst. Yashaya Netoghar
lent their voices to the harmonious presentation.
The celebration continued with the ceremonial cake cutting and felicitation of the priests. Beautiful
handmade greeting cards prepared by Mst. Shanto Shiju, Mst. Dhariya Gadigokar and Mst. Anush
Madhav were lovingly presented. Bouquets were offered by Tr. Shama Merchant, Tr. Stivina
Rodrigues and Tr. Cosma Almeida, while gift hampers and a gift purse were presented by Sir Sunil
D’Souza, Mr. Cyril Anthony and Ms. Vaibhavi Dandekar, representing the teaching, clerical and
support staff respectively. Each gesture beautifully expressed the school community’s love, respect
and appreciation for our spiritual shepherds.
Rev. Fr. Venancio Mascarenhas addressed the gathering with words of encouragement, urging
everyone to remain steadfast in faith and committed to service. Rev. Fr. Clifford D’Souza shared
inspiring words of gratitude and encouragement, adding warmth and meaning to the celebration.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Sir Sunil D’Souza, expressing
sincere gratitude to the clergy, management, staff, students and everyone who contributed to
making the celebration a memorable one.
