Parents' Guidance Session for Students with Special Needs

Place: St. Paul High School, Dadar

● A guidance session for the parents of LD students was organised to address their queries and create awareness about the support available to their children.
● The session was conducted in the presence of Rev. Fr. Victor, Principal, Mrs. Savita, Special Educationist, and Miss Rhea, LD In-charge Teacher.
● Rev. Fr. Victor, Principal, explained the GR dated 16th October 2018, subject provisions, compulsory and optional subjects, and the importance of assignments and journal submission.
● Parents were requested to avoid subject change considering the students' future.
● At 11:00 a.m., Mrs. Savita, Special Educationist, addressed the parents.
● A positive outlook towards LD students and their learning journey was encouraged.
● The disadvantages of subject change and the benefits of the UDID card for SSC Board examinations were explained.
● It was emphasised that LD students are equally capable and should not be viewed differently.
● Parents were advised to complete the assessment and certification before filling the SSC Board forms and were guided about hospitals for assessment.
● An interactive question-and-answer session was held to clarify parents' queries.
● Mrs. Savita met individual parents, reviewed each student's assessment reports and certificates and provided personalised guidance. She also agreed to meet the students individually.
● The session concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Miss Rhea, LD In-charge Teacher
