Marathi Bhasha Divas
27th February, 2026 | Secondary Section
Marathi Bhasha Divas was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the renowned Marathi poet, playwright, novelist, and short story writer, Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, popularly known by his pen name ‘Kusumagraj’.
Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Victor, and Manager, Rev. Fr. Austin, were escorted to the stage amidst the rhythmic beats of dhol, tasha, and zanj, accompanied by an energetic Lezhim performance by the students. A framed photograph of Kusumagraj was placed on the stage and garlanded as a mark of respect.
The celebration featured melodious singing, vibrant dances, and meaningful speeches, which added to the grandeur of the event. The Manager and the Principal emphasized the importance of developing pride in the state language and encouraged students to learn and master Marathi.
Certificates were distributed to the winners of various competitions held from 14th January to 28th January as part of the “Marathi Bhasha Sanvardhan Pandharwada” (Marathi Language Enrichment Fortnight).
The programme was a great success and left a lasting impression on all present.
