National Science Day
28th February, 2026 | Secondary Section
The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school. The celebration aimed to instill a deep appreciation for science and technology among students and motivate them to pursue careers in various scientific fields.
A special assembly was conducted to inspire curiosity, nurture innovative thinking, and develop a scientific temperament among students. A student delivered a speech on the significance of National Science Day, while four students dressed as renowned scientists presented a short role play, highlighting their discoveries and contributions to science.
The most engaging part of the programme was the live demonstration of experiments by students, which made scientific concepts interesting and easy to understand:
Newton’s Disc – demonstrated by Gaurav Machivale (6D), explaining the formation of white light from different colours.
Effect of Permanent Magnet – demonstrated by Palash Kadam (8B), showcasing the properties of magnets.
Good and Bad Conductors of Electricity – demonstrated by Shlok Jalvi (7B), explaining how different materials conduct electricity.
Refraction of Light – demonstrated by Sarthak Kamble (6D), illustrating how light bends when it passes through different mediums.
Surface Tension – demonstrated by Aaditya Nagesh (9B), showing the cohesive forces between water molecules.
These experiments were both informative and captivating, helping students understand scientific principles through practical observation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by our Principal, Rev. Fr. Victor, who encouraged students to remain curious, ask questions, and develop a scientific attitude.
